    SEE ALSO...

Taperin Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects taperin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-taperin antibody (H-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Taperin (TPRN) is a 711 amino acid sensory epithelial protein that plays a crucial role in the structure and function of hair cell stereocilia, where taperin is predominantly localized at the taper regions. This localization is vital for maintaining the integrity and functionality of the auditory system, as defects in taperin can lead to autosomal recessive deafness type 79 (DFNB79), characterized by progressive hearing loss and eventual profound deafness. The gene encoding taperin spans 9,689 bases and is located on human chromosome 9q34.3, a region that houses over 900 genes and is implicated in various genetic disorders, including hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and familial dysautonomia. Notably, chromosome 9 also contains the largest cluster of interferon family genes, highlighting its significance in immune response regulation.

How much sample do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using taperin (H-4): sc-515824?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane. A link to our complete Western blotting protocol is provided here for your reference: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
