TAL1 Antibody (2TL242) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the TAL1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-TAL1 antibody (2TL242) plays a crucial role in understanding the pathogenesis of T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, as TAL1 activation is implicated in approximately 60% of cases, representing the most common gain-of-function mutation in this malignancy. TAL1, also known as SCL, is a serine phosphoprotein and a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor that is essential for regulating embryonic hematopoiesis. TAL1′s ability to form heterodimers with E2A and HEB/HTF4 allows binding to specific DNA sequences known as E-boxes, which are critical for the transcriptional regulation of genes involved in blood cell development. Furthermore, TAL1′s interaction with other proteins, such as the catalytic subunit of casein kinase IIalpha, significantly enhances leukemogenic potential, highlighting the importance of post-translational modifications in modulating activity and function. TAL1 (2TL242) antibody serves as an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying hematopoietic malignancies and the role of transcription factors in cancer biology.
