TAL1 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TAL1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TAL1 Antibody (C-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TAL1 protein, also known as SCL, plays a crucial role in embryonic hematopoiesis as a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor, regulating blood cell development. TAL1′s ability to bind as a heterodimer with E2A and HEB/HTF4 to the E-box motif is essential for transcriptional regulation of genes involved in hematopoiesis. Notably, TAL1 activation is implicated in approximately 60% of human T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia cases, marking TAL1 as the most common gain-of-function mutation in this malignancy. Additionally, TAL1′s leukemogenic potential significantly increases when co-expressed with the catalytic subunit of casein kinase IIalpha, a serine/threonine protein kinase that modulates the activity of other basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors, highlighting TAL1′s importance in both normal development and disease processes.
