Tachykinin Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 1–129, representing the full-length Tachykinin of human origin. anti-Tachykinin antibody (A-2) specifically detects Tachykinin proteins from mouse, rat, and human origins in applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tachykinins, including Substance P, Neurokinin A (also known as Substance K or Neuromedin L), and Neurokinin B, are a family of neuropeptides derived from the common precursor preprotachykinin I (PPT). Post-translational modifications, particularly proteolytic processing and C-terminal amidation, are essential for generating the active forms of these peptides, which share a common carboxy-terminal sequence (Phe-X-Gly-Leu-Met-NH2).
