    SEE ALSO...

Tachykinin Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 1–129, representing the full-length Tachykinin of human origin. anti-Tachykinin antibody (A-2) specifically detects Tachykinin proteins from mouse, rat, and human origins in applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tachykinins, including Substance P, Neurokinin A (also known as Substance K or Neuromedin L), and Neurokinin B, are a family of neuropeptides derived from the common precursor preprotachykinin I (PPT). Post-translational modifications, particularly proteolytic processing and C-terminal amidation, are essential for generating the active forms of these peptides, which share a common carboxy-terminal sequence (Phe-X-Gly-Leu-Met-NH2). The amidation of the C-terminus is critical for receptor recognition and activation, enhancing the peptides′ stability and biological activity. These modifications influence their roles in neurotransmission, modulation of immune and hematopoietic systems, angiogenesis, and mitogenesis. Tachykinins are expressed primarily in the peripheral nervous system′s small-diameter primary sensory fibers and various regions of the central nervous system, including the spinal cord′s dorsal horn, substantia nigra, and medial amygdaloid nucleus. Understanding these post-translational modifications is important because dysregulation of tachykinin activity has been implicated in conditions such as breast cancer, bone marrow metastasis, and depression. Tachykinin monoclonal antibody (A-2) allows for comprehensive detection and study of these neuropeptides and their functions in physiological and pathological processes.
