SEE ALSO...

SYT Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects SYT in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SYT, or synovial translocation protein, plays a crucial role as a transcriptional coactivator, facilitating the expression of genes involved in cell growth and differentiation, which is particularly important in the context of synovial sarcoma, a type of cancer that arises in soft tissues. Anti-SYT antibody (C-3) recognizes a protein featuring a conserved amino terminal SNH domain and a carboxy terminal QPGY domain, the latter of which acts as a transcriptional activating sequence. Notably, SYT is involved in a specific chromosomal translocation (t(x;18)) that leads to the fusion of its amino terminus with the carboxy terminus of SSX proteins, resulting in the formation of SYT-SSX chimeras that function as potent transcriptional activators. These chimeras are predominantly found in synovial sarcomas, which account for up to 10% of soft tissue sarcomas and can be classified into biphasic and monophasic subtypes based on the specific SSX fusion partner involved. SYT monoclonal antibody (C-3) detection of these critical protein interactions makes this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers studying the molecular mechanisms underlying synovial sarcoma and related pathologies.
