    SEE ALSO...

SYT Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects SYT in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SYT, or synovial translocation protein, plays a crucial role as a transcriptional coactivator, facilitating the expression of genes involved in cell growth and differentiation, which is particularly important in the context of synovial sarcomas. SYT features a conserved amino terminal SNH domain and a carboxy terminal QPGY domain, the latter of which acts as a transcriptional activating sequence. SYT is involved in the t(x;18) chromosomal translocation, leading to the formation of SYT-SSX fusion proteins that are implicated in the pathogenesis of synovial sarcomas. These fusions not only enhance transcriptional activity but also contribute to the oncogenic properties of tumors, making SYT a significant target for research and potential therapeutic interventions. The presence of SYT-SSX chimeras is a hallmark of synovial sarcomas, which account for up to 10% of soft tissue sarcomas and can be classified into biphasic and monophasic subtypes based on the specific fusion partner involved. anti-SYT antibody (C-10) is therefore an invaluable tool for studying the molecular mechanisms underlying these cancers and for developing targeted therapies.
