STON2 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects STON2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). STON2 (A-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. STON2, also known as stonin 2, STN2, STNB, or STNB2, is a 905 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in endocytotic machinery of cells, functioning as an adaptor protein that facilitates interaction between clathrin-coated vesicles and target membranes. This interaction is vital for endocytosis, which is essential for nutrient uptake, receptor recycling, and regulation of synaptic transmission. STON2 is expressed ubiquitously and is localized to both cytoplasm and membrane, where STON2 interacts with key proteins such as Synaptotagmin I and Synaptotagmin II, further underscoring importance in vesicle recycling and clathrin-coated vesicle uncoating. Multiple isoforms of STON2 arise from alternative splicing events, contributing to functional diversity. STON2 gene is located on human chromosome 14, a region containing over 700 genes and implicated in various genetic disorders, including Alzheimer′s disease and α1-antitrypsin deficiency, highlighting broader significance in cellular processes and human health.
