    SEE ALSO...

STARS Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects STARS protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). STARS (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. STARS, also known as striated muscle activator of Rho-dependent signaling or ABRA (Actin-binding Rho-activating protein), is a 381 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in muscle function and cellular signaling. STARS is primarily localized to the cytoskeleton, specifically within the I-band of the sarcomere and the sarcomeric structure between Z-lines, which is vital for maintaining the structural integrity and contractility of muscle fibers. By activating serum response factor (SRF)-dependent transcription, STARS influences gene expression related to muscle development and function, either through Rho-actin signaling pathways or by promoting the nuclear translocation of MRTF-A or MRTF-B. STARS has been shown to interact with proteins such as ABLIM1, ABLIM2, and ABLIM3, which further underscores its importance in cellular signaling networks. The gene encoding STARS is located on human chromosome 8, a region that encompasses nearly 146 million bases and is responsible for encoding approximately 800 genes, highlighting the complexity and significance of STARS in human biology.
