STAMBP Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects STAMBP in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). STAMBP, also known as AMSH, is a 424 amino acid protein that belongs to the peptidase M67C family and is widely expressed throughout the body. STAMBP functions as a zinc metalloprotease, specifically cleaving ′Lys-63′-linked polyubiquitin chains, which is crucial for regulating protein degradation and cellular signaling pathways. By opposing the ubiquitin-dependent sorting of receptors to lysosomes, STAMBP plays a significant role in signal transduction related to cell growth and the induction of Myc, particularly in response to interleukin-2 and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor. STAMBP enhances bone morphogenetic protein signaling by counteracting the inhibitory effects of Smad6 and Smad7, thereby influencing various developmental and physiological processes. STAMBP′s structure includes the JAMM motif, which is essential for protease activity and is sensitive to inhibition by N-ethylmaleimide, highlighting the importance of structural integrity for functional activity.
