    ST Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the ST protein (serotonin transporter, also called SERT) of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ST antibody (H-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ST protein plays a crucial role in the reuptake of serotonin from the synaptic cleft, which is essential for regulating mood and emotional responses. By clearing serotonin, ST protein helps maintain the balance of neurotransmitters in the brain, and dysfunction of ST protein is linked to various psychiatric disorders, including depression and anxiety. Notably, many antidepressants, such as tricyclics and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), target ST protein to prolong serotonin availability in the synaptic cleft, thereby enhancing mood and emotional stability. The importance of ST protein in emotional development underscores its relevance in both basic neuroscience and clinical applications, making ST monoclonal antibody (H-8) a valuable tool for researchers studying serotonin signaling pathways and their implications in mental health.
