SR-2C Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SR-2C protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SR-2C (D-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SR-2C protein, also known as 5-Hydroxytryptamine Receptor 2C, is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family and plays a crucial role in mediating serotonin effects, a key neurotransmitter involved in numerous physiological processes. Located primarily in the central nervous system, SR-2C protein is essential for regulating mood, anxiety, and appetite, and has been implicated in the mechanisms of action of various atypical antipsychotic medications. SR-2C protein′s ability to activate phospholipase C and release intracellular calcium stores is vital for function, as SR-2C influences neuronal signaling pathways that affect behavior and emotional responses. Additionally, SR-2C protein′s interactions with other serotonin receptors, such as SR-2A and SR-2B, highlight importance in the broader context of serotonin signaling and potential impact on psychiatric disorders, making anti-SR-2C antibody (D-12) an invaluable tool for researchers studying these complex biological systems.
