SEE ALSO...

SPTLC1 Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SPTLC1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SPTLC1 (H-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SPTLC1, also known as serine palmitoyltransferase 1 or LCB1, plays a crucial role in sphingolipid biosynthesis by catalyzing the conversion of L-serine and palmitoyl-CoA into 3-oxosphinganine, a key precursor in the synthesis of complex sphingolipids. This process is vital for maintaining cellular membrane integrity and signaling, as sphingolipids are essential components of cell membranes and are involved in various cellular functions, including apoptosis, cell growth, and differentiation. SPTLC1 activity is regulated by the availability of substrates and cofactors, and any dysregulation can lead to significant health issues, such as hereditary sensory neuropathy, atopic eczema, and psoriasis, highlighting SPTLC1′s importance in human health.
