Spir-1 Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Spir-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Spir-1 (H-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Spir-1, also known as spire homolog 1, is a 756 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role as an actin nucleation factor, facilitating new actin filament growth and participating in vesicle transport processes. Spir-1 localization to the cytoskeleton and perinuclear region of the cytoplasm is vital for maintaining cellular structure and function, effectively linking intracellular transport mechanisms with actin organization, which is essential for various cellular activities, including cell motility and division. One KIND domain and two WH2 domains in Spir-1 contribute to actin interaction, further underscoring Spir-1′s importance in cytoskeletal dynamics. Multiple isoforms of Spir-1 arise from alternative splicing, allowing for functional diversity in different cellular contexts. Spir-1 encoding gene is located on human chromosome 18, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including Trisomy 18, Niemann-Pick disease, and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, highlighting Spir-1′s significance in both normal physiology and disease states.
