SphK1 Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SphK1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SphK1 (G-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sphingosine kinase 1 (SphK1) plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by catalyzing the phosphorylation of sphingosine to produce sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P), a bioactive lipid that functions as both an intracellular messenger and an extracellular ligand for Edg-family receptors. S1P regulates a wide array of biological processes, including cell growth, proliferation, and survival, making SphK1 a significant player in various physiological and pathological conditions. SphK1 protects human hepatocytes from apoptosis induced by tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα), highlighting potential therapeutic applications in liver diseases.
