SPFH1 Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SPFH1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SPFH1 (A-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SPFH1, also known as stomatin-prohibitin-flotillin-HflC/K domain-containing protein 1 or ERLIN1, is a 346 amino acid protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane and is a member of the band 7/mec-2 family. SPFH1 plays a crucial role in forming a heteromeric complex with SPFH2, which is essential for mediating the endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors (IP3Rs). The SPFH1/SPFH2 complex is characterized by a ring-shaped structure, vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating calcium signaling pathways. SPFH1 is predominantly expressed in various tissues, including heart, placenta, liver, kidney, pancreas, prostate, testis, ovary, and small intestine, highlighting its importance in diverse physiological processes. The SPFH1 gene is located on human chromosome 10q21-q22, which encompasses over 131 million base pairs and contains a significant number of protein-coding genes, underscoring the complexity and significance of this genomic region in human health and disease.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514820 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
