SEE ALSO...

spectrin β III Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects spectrin beta III protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-spectrin β III antibody (A-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Spectrin beta III plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of the cell by forming part of the cytoskeletal framework, which is essential for cellular shape, stability, and organization. Spectrin beta III is predominantly located in the cytoplasm and is a major component of the Golgi and vesicular membrane skeletons, where spectrin beta III contributes to the organization of membrane domains and the regulation of intracellular transport. The proper localization and function of spectrin beta III are vital for cellular processes such as vesicle trafficking and signal transduction, making spectrin beta III an important target for studies related to cellular dynamics and pathology. Notably, spectrin beta III is highly expressed in the brain, kidney, pancreas, and liver, with lower expression levels in the lung and placenta, highlighting spectrin beta III′s significance in various physiological contexts. Western blotting (WB) analysis indicates that spectrin beta III migrates at a higher molecular mass than predicted in the kidney, which may reflect spectrin beta III′s complex post-translational modifications and interactions with other proteins, further underscoring spectrin beta III′s importance in cellular function and integrity.
