SPATA9 Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SPATA9 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SPATA9 (F-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SPATA9, also known as spermatogenesis associated 9 or NYD-SP16, is a 254 amino acid single-pass membrane protein predominantly expressed in testis and pancreas, with minimal expression in heart, lung, and brain. SPATA9 plays a crucial role in acrosome reaction and sperm capacitation, processes essential for successful fertilization. SPATA9 is implicated in testicular development and spermatogenesis, making SPATA9 a significant factor in male fertility. SPATA9 absence has been observed in patients with Sertoli-cell-only syndrome, a condition leading to male sterility without sexual abnormalities, highlighting SPATA9′s importance in reproductive health. SPATA9 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 5, which encompasses approximately 181 million base pairs and encodes around 1,000 genes, representing about 6% of human genome.
