SEE ALSO...

SPATA16 Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SPATA16 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SPATA16 antibody (G-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SPATA16, also known as spermatogenesis associated 16 or NYD-SP12, is a 569 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in sperm acrosome development, essential for sperm-egg fusion during fertilization. SPATA16 is primarily localized in the Golgi apparatus and predominantly expressed in the testis, with lower expression levels found in the kidney and pancreas. SPATA16 gene is located on human chromosome 3q26.31 and mouse chromosome 3 A3, and mutations in SPATA16 can lead to globozoospermia, a rare form of teratozoospermia characterized by abnormal sperm morphology and infertility. Understanding SPATA16 function is vital, as SPATA16 not only contributes to normal spermatogenesis but also has implications for male fertility, making SPATA16 a significant target for research in reproductive biology and potential therapeutic interventions.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374112 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
