SODD Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SODD protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SODD antibody (C-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SODD protein, known as the silencer of death domains, plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis and cellular signaling pathways by interacting with tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 (TNF-R1). Located in the cytoplasm, SODD associates with the intracellular "death" domain of TNF-R1 in the absence of TNF stimulation, effectively preventing spontaneous signaling by death-domain receptors. Upon TNF binding, SODD releases from TNF-R1, which facilitates the recruitment of signaling proteins such as TRADD and TRAF2 to the receptor complex, thereby activating pathways that lead to apoptosis and NFkB activation. This regulatory function of SODD is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing inappropriate cell death, making SODD an important target for research in apoptosis and related diseases.
