SEE ALSO...

SOCS-5 Antibody (31-L) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SOCS-5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SOCS-5 antibody (31-L) is available as non-conjugated format. SOCS-5 protein plays a crucial role in the negative regulation of cytokine signaling, which is essential for maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing excessive inflammatory responses. Located primarily in the cytoplasm, SOCS-5 interacts with various signaling pathways, including those activated by interleukin-6, thereby modulating STAT3 transcription factor activity. This regulation is vital because dysregulation of SOCS-5 can lead to chronic inflammation and autoimmune diseases. The SOCS family, which includes SOCS-1, SOCS-2, and SOCS-3, is characterized by a central SH2 domain and a unique SOCS box that facilitates protein-protein interactions, further underscoring SOCS-5′s importance in cellular signaling networks. With proven detection capabilities across multiple species and applications, SOCS-5 monoclonal antibody (31-L) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying cytokine signaling and its implications in health and disease.

Can sc-100858: SOCS-5 (31-L) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100858: SOCS-5 (31-L) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
