    SEE ALSO...

SMCR7 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SMCR7 of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SMCR7 (A-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SMCR7, also known as Smith-Magenis syndrome chromosomal region candidate gene 7, is a 454 amino acid single-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and membrane dynamics. SMCR7 expression is notably highest in skeletal muscle and heart tissues, which is significant as these tissues are vital for movement and circulation. SMCR7 localization in the cell membrane is essential for function, as SMCR7 facilitates interactions with other membrane proteins and receptors, thereby influencing various physiological processes. Mutations or deletions in the gene encoding SMCR7 are associated with Smith-Magenis syndrome, a disorder characterized by multiple congenital anomalies, mental retardation, and behavioral issues, highlighting SMCR7′s relevance in developmental biology and genetics. Understanding SMCR7 function and interactions can provide insights into the underlying mechanisms of this syndrome and aid in the development of targeted therapies.
