SMAP1 Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects SMAP1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SMAP1, also known as small ArfGAP 1, is a 467 amino acid peripheral membrane protein that plays a crucial role in clathrin-dependent endocytosis by localizing to the cytoplasmic side of the cell membrane. As a GTPase activating protein for ARF6, SMAP1 is essential for regulating membrane trafficking and cellular signaling pathways, which are vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to external stimuli. SMAP1 is widely expressed in various tissues, including lymph node, spinal cord, bone marrow, adrenal gland, trachea, stomach, thyroid, and embryonic hematopoietic tissues, highlighting its importance in diverse biological processes. SMAP1 contains one Arf-GAP domain and exists in multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to its functional versatility.
