    SEE ALSO...

SLIRP Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SLIRP protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SLIRP antibody (B-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SLIRP protein, also known as SRA stem-loop-interacting RNA-binding protein, DC50, or C14orf156, is a 109 amino acid mitochondrial protein that primarily localizes to the nucleus and is expressed in various tissues, with the highest levels found in the heart, liver, skeletal muscle, and testis. SLIRP contains a single RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain, which is crucial for its function as a nuclear receptor corepressor; SLIRP binds to the STR7 loop of SRA RNA, thereby repressing SRA-mediated nuclear receptor coactivation. SLIRP has been shown to inhibit the transactivation of several nuclear receptors, including glucocorticoid, androgen, thyroid, and vitamin D receptors, suggesting a role in regulating gene expression and mitochondrial function. SLIRP is encoded on human chromosome 14, a region that encompasses over 700 genes and constitutes nearly 3.5% of the human genome, highlighting potential significance in various biological processes and disease mechanisms.
