Slac2-a Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Slac2-a in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Slac2-a antibody (G-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Slac2-a, or synaptotagmin-like protein (Slp) homolog lacking C2 domains-a, plays a crucial role in linking Rab27A on melanosomes with Myosin VA in melanocytes, facilitating transport of pigment and cytotoxic granules. Slac2-a features a synaptotagmin-like protein homology domain (SHD) near the N-terminus, which is essential for binding to GTP-bound Rab27A, while the C-terminal region interacts with Myosin VA. Stable formation of this complex is vital for proper cellular function, and mutations in the binding domains can lead to severe consequences, including albinism and immune disorders.
