SKAP55 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SKAP55 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SKAP55 (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SKAP55 plays a crucial role in T cell signaling, as SKAP55 interacts with the tyrosine kinase p59fyn and is essential for the regulation of signaling events initiated by lymphocyte antigen receptors, which ultimately lead to T cell activation. Located in the cytoplasm, SKAP55 contains an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain that is important for membrane localization and a C-terminal SH3 domain that facilitates interactions with other signaling proteins. The presence of these domains allows SKAP55 to effectively participate in the formation of signaling complexes, thereby influencing T cell responses. The human SKAP55 gene is located on chromosome 17q21.32 and encodes a 359 amino acid protein, which is vital for maintaining proper immune function.
