SEE ALSO...

SIRT6 Antibody (2G1H1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SIRT6 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SIRT6 antibody (2G1H1) is available as a non-conjugated format. SIRT6, also known as SIR2L6, is a crucial member of the sirtuin family, consisting of NAD+-dependent deacetylases that play significant roles in cellular regulation. This 355 amino acid protein localizes primarily in the nucleus, functioning as a deacetylase for histone H3 lysine 9 (H3K9), modulating telomeric chromatin structure and contributing to DNA repair processes and telomere maintenance. SIRT6 maintains genomic stability through regulation of cellular aging and longevity. SIRT6 binds zinc as a cofactor and expresses in four isoforms due to alternative splicing, influencing functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms within cells. SIRT6 interactions with various proteins involved in DNA repair and chromatin remodeling underscore significance in cellular health and disease prevention.

I am using SIRT6 (2G1H1): sc-517196 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good antibodyWe tested the antibody on MCF7 cell lysates, it works very well on WB, we got a few extra bands of lower weight

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This antibody can detect Sirt6 in HeLa cells by WBWe acquired this antibody approximately 7 months ago and stored it in 4C. We recently performed a western blot with whole cell lysates of HeLa cells using a 1 to 1000 dilution. We can detect Sirt6 by western blot with a 1 minute exposure. It works.
