SEE ALSO...

Sigma Receptor Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Sigma Receptor of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sigma Receptor (F-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sigma Receptor, also known as opioid receptor sigma 1 (Oprs 1), plays a crucial role in modulating the analgesic effects of opioid drugs, making Sigma Receptor significant in pain management and therapeutic interventions. Sigma Receptor is primarily located in the endoplasmic reticulum and plasma membrane of neurons, where Sigma Receptor influences intracellular signaling pathways. Strategic positioning allows Sigma Receptor to interact with various signaling molecules, thereby modulating calcium mobilization and neurotransmitter release, which are vital for maintaining synaptic plasticity and overall neuronal health. Sigma Receptor is implicated in several neurobiological processes, including learning, memory, and responses to stress, depression, and neuroprotection. Research has shown Sigma Receptor interacts with specific proteins such as the NMDA receptor, which is essential for synaptic transmission and plasticity. Expression of Sigma Receptor in various human tumors and involvement in psychiatric disorders highlight potential as a therapeutic target in treating central nervous system diseases. Opioid analgesia is influenced by multiple factors, including Sigma Receptor activity, underscoring importance in both basic research and clinical applications.
