SEE ALSO...

Set1 Antibody (1.4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Set1 protein of Saccharomyces cerevisiae origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). anti-Set1 antibody (1.4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Set1 protein plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression through its function as a histone H3-lysine 4 (H3-K4) methylase, which is essential for maintaining chromatin structure and facilitating DNA repair processes. Set1 protein is part of the COMPASS complex, which includes six other nonessential proteins, and is vital for the regulation of rDNA silencing via H3 methylation. The presence of the highly conserved SET domain within Set1 is significant, as this domain is responsible for enzymatic activity and interaction with other proteins involved in transcriptional regulation. Set1′s association with the phosphorylated form of RNA polymerase II at serine 5 of the C-terminal domain serves as a molecular memory of recent transcriptional activity, highlighting Set1′s importance in the dynamic regulation of gene expression during cellular development.

Can this antibody detect Set mutants which have single point mutation in 470-1080?

Asked by: z2333
Thank you for your question. The exact epitope, between amino acids 470-1080 of Set1 of Saccaromyces cerevisia origin, has not been determined for this monoclonal antibody. Therefore, we could not predict if the antibody would work for your intended application.
