SEE ALSO...

SEPHS1 Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SEPHS1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SEPHS1 antibody (F-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SEPHS1, also known as selenophosphate synthetase 1, is a crucial enzyme consisting of 392 amino acids that plays a vital role in the biosynthesis of selenocysteine, an amino acid essential for selenoprotein function. SEPHS1 catalyzes the formation of selenophosphate, the active selenium donor, from selenide, ATP, and water, facilitating selenium incorporation into proteins at specific codons. SEPHS1 function depends on a selenium salvage system that recycles L-selenocysteine, ensuring continuous substrate supply for selenophosphate synthesis. Given selenocysteine′s importance in various biological processes, including antioxidant defense and thyroid hormone metabolism, studying SEPHS1 and related interactions is crucial for understanding selenium′s role in health and disease.
