SEMA3A Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that specifically targets SEMA3A, also known as Semaphorin-3A, by recognizing amino acids 103-402 of the human protein. Anti-SEMA3A antibody (A-12) reacts with SEMA3A from mouse, rat, and human origins in various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SEMA3A is a member of the semaphorin family, a group of cell surface and secreted proteins crucial for axonal guidance during neural development; SEMA3A functions as a chemorepellent, directing the growth of neural axons to form intricate neural networks. Beyond its role in the nervous system, SEMA3A is involved in regulating angiogenesis and has been linked to cancer progression by binding to receptors like neuropilin-1 and neuropilin-2, thereby competing with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and suppressing new blood vessel formation.
