SECp43 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SECp43 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SECp43 antibody (E-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SECp43, also known as tRNA (Sec) selenocysteine 1-associated protein 1 or TRNAU1AP, consists of 287 amino acids and belongs to the RRM TRSPAP protein family. SECp43 is primarily localized in the nucleus, although SECp43 is also found in the cytoplasm, with a notable abundance in the nuclear compartment. SECp43 contains two RNA recognition motif (RRM) domains, which are crucial for RNA binding and processing. These domains feature highly conserved regions, including a six amino acid hydrophobic motif (RNP-2) and an octapeptide motif (RNP-1), which are essential for RNA molecule interactions. SECp43 plays a vital role in the early stages of selenocysteine biosynthesis and tRNA charging, as well as in the later stages of the cotranslational incorporation of selenocysteine into selenoproteins. Additionally, SECp43 may be involved in tRNA methylation and associates with various proteins, including mRNP, SELB, and SBP-2. Two isoforms of SECp43 arise from alternative splicing events, which may contribute to functional diversity in cellular processes.

Can SECp43 (E-7): sc-377448 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, SECp43 (E-7): sc-377448 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
