SEE ALSO...

SCOP Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects SCOP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SCOP antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SCOP protein, known as the suprachiasmatic nucleus circadian oscillatory protein, plays a crucial role in regulating circadian rhythms and is involved in the dephosphorylation of Akt, a key player in cell survival and apoptosis. By modulating Akt activity, SCOP influences important cellular processes such as apoptosis and tumor suppression, making SCOP vital for understanding cancer biology and potential therapeutic interventions. Notably, SCOP has been shown to negatively regulate K-Ras signaling within membrane rafts, thereby contributing to the regulation of the Ras-MAPK signaling pathway, which is often dysregulated in various cancers. In human embryonic kidney cell lysates, SCOP produces a major protein and a minor protein, with SCOP expression levels being notably lower in certain colon cancer and glioblastoma cell lines that exhibit elevated Akt phosphorylation. Additionally, SCOP is expressed in rat tissues such as the cerebrum, cerebellum, and testis, highlighting SCOP′s diverse roles in different biological contexts.
