Datasheets
  • SCML2 Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 563-655 mapping near the C-terminus of SCML2 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of SCML2 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for SCML2 Antibody (E-12) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with SCML2 Antibody (E-12) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

    SEE ALSO...

SCML2 Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects SCML2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SCML2, a human homolog of the Drosophila Polycomb protein SCM, plays a crucial role in transcriptional repression and is part of the Polycomb group (PcG) gene family, which is essential for regulating gene expression during embryonic development. SCML2 is predominantly expressed in the placenta, testis, and thymus, highlighting its importance in reproductive and immune functions. Notably, SCML2 undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation by ATR or ATM in response to DNA damage, which can influence activity and stability. Additionally, alternative splicing of SCML2 results in two isoforms, allowing for functional diversity that may be critical in various biological contexts. Anti-SCML2 antibody (E-12) effectively detects SCML2 across multiple species and applications, making SCML2 (E-12) antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying gene regulation and developmental biology.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with SCML2 (E-12): sc-271096 monoclonal antibody?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
