SCML2 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SCML2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SCML2 (F-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SCML2, a human homolog of the Drosophila Polycomb group protein SCM, plays a crucial role in transcriptional repression, which is essential for regulating gene expression during embryonic development. This regulation ensures genes are expressed at the right time and in the right cells, preventing developmental abnormalities. SCML2 is predominantly expressed in the placenta, testis, and thymus, highlighting its importance in reproductive and immune functions. Upon DNA damage, SCML2 may undergo phosphorylation by ATR or ATM, which can influence its activity and cellular interactions. Alternative splicing of SCML2 results in two isoforms, further diversifying its functional roles in cellular processes.
