Scleraxis Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Scleraxis protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Scleraxis (A-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Scleraxis, a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression, particularly in mesoderm and somite-derived chondrogenic lineage development. This 201 amino acid protein dimerizes with other bHLH proteins to initiate transcription, highlighting Scleraxis′s importance in cellular differentiation and proliferation. Scleraxis primarily localizes in the nucleus, where Scleraxis binds to DNA adjacent to target genes, influencing mRNA transcript production essential for various developmental processes. The gene encoding Scleraxis is located on human chromosome 8, a region associated with numerous diseases, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and certain leukemias, underscoring Scleraxis′s significance in both normal physiology and disease pathology.
