Sar1a Antibody (K-44) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Sar1a protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-Sar1a antibody (K-44) is available as a non-conjugated format, providing researchers with a reliable tool for studying this critical protein. Sar1a plays a vital role in the secretory pathway of cells, specifically in the formation of transport vesicles from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Sar1a functions as a low-molecular-weight GTPase essential for the budding of COPII-coated vesicles, which are responsible for transporting secretory proteins to the Golgi complex. Understanding Sar1a function is crucial, as mutations in the SAR1 gene can lead to Anderson′s disease, a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by severe lipid malabsorption, chronic diarrhea, and failure to thrive in children. Sar1a (K-44) antibody enables researchers to gain insights into the mechanisms of vesicular transport and the implications of SAR1 gene mutations in various diseases, making this tool invaluable in cellular biology and disease research.

I am using Sar1a (K-44): sc-130463 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration.
