SAP 145 Antibody (RR-30) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects SAP 145 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SAP 145 is a crucial component of the SF3b complex, which is integral to the assembly of the spliceosome, a vital molecular machine responsible for the splicing of pre-mRNA. Proper functioning of the spliceosome is essential for gene expression regulation, as SAP 145 ensures that introns are accurately removed and exons are joined together, allowing for the production of mature mRNA. SAP 145′s interaction with other spliceosomal proteins, such as SAP 130 and SAP 155, highlights SAP 145′s role in maintaining the structural integrity of the spliceosome. SAP 145 directly interacts with SAP 49, a relationship that is critical for the complex′s function, as this interaction facilitates the tethering of U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) to the branch site of pre-mRNA. This binding mechanism underscores the importance of RNA-recognition motifs in the amino-terminus of SAP 49, which are essential for the binding of RNA substrates.
