    SEE ALSO...

SAHH Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects S-adenosylhomocysteine hydrolase (SAHH) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SAHH is a crucial cytoplasmic protein composed of 432 amino acids, primarily localized in the melanosome, an organelle responsible for melanin production. SAHH (A-6) antibody recognizes a protein that plays a vital role in amino acid biosynthesis by catalyzing the reversible hydrolysis of S-adenosylhomocysteine (SAH) into adenosine and L-homocysteine, thereby regulating intracellular SAH levels and influencing methyltransferase reactions. The homotetrameric structure of SAHH allows binding of one NAD molecule per subunit, facilitating involvement in the activated methyl cycle, where the methyl group of methionine is activated through the formation of S-adenosylmethionine. Mutations in the gene encoding SAHH can lead to hypermethioninemia, a metabolic disorder characterized by elevated methionine levels, which can result in symptoms such as sluggishness, muscle weakness, and liver dysfunction. Anti-SAHH antibody (A-6) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying the functional dynamics of SAHH and its implications in various biological processes and diseases.

do you have some data showing that this Ab can IP AHCY because it did not work in my hands. WB is OK, but I got no IP at all and I tried it twice already...

Are there any issues with using sc-393129: SAHH (A-6) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-393129 conjugates.
