Sacsin Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Sacsin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sacsin (G-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The SACS gene encodes Sacsin protein, which is crucial for chaperone-mediated protein folding, a process essential for maintaining cellular protein homeostasis and preventing the aggregation of misfolded proteins. Sacsin is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, as well as in skeletal muscle and pancreatic tissues, highlighting its importance in both neuronal and muscular function. Sacsin′s structure includes seven nuclear localization signals, three coiled-coil domains, and two leucine zipper motifs, along with a DnaJ motif and a hydrophobic domain in its C-terminal region, which are vital for its interaction with other proteins and its localization within the cell. Defects in the SACS gene can lead to autosomal recessive spastic ataxia of Charlevoix-Saguenay (ARSACS), a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by early-onset symptoms such as reduced motor-nerve velocity and hypermyelination of retinal-nerve fibers, particularly prevalent in the Charlevoix-Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-515118 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
