RREB1 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects RREB1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RREB1, also known as ras responsive element binding protein 1, FINB, LZ321, or Zep-1, is a 1,687 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role as a transcription factor by binding to the RAS-responsive element of target gene promoters, thereby regulating their transcription. RREB1 is predominantly localized in nuclear speckles and contains fifteen C2H2-type zinc fingers, which are essential for DNA-binding capability. RREB1 is expressed in various tissues, including the pancreas, heart, liver, placenta, lung, kidney, and skeletal muscle, highlighting its importance in diverse biological processes. Notably, RREB1 is implicated in Raf/Ras-mediated cell differentiation, which is vital for proper development and function of cells. RREB1 enhances the expression of Calcitonin, a hormone critical for maintaining blood calcium levels, thereby linking RREB1 to metabolic regulation. Furthermore, due to its role in cell differentiation, RREB1 may contribute to Raf/Ras-related tumor formation, making RREB1 significant in cancer research. Additionally, four isoforms of RREB1 exist due to alternative splicing, which may further diversify functional roles in cellular processes.
