SEE ALSO...

RNase Z1 Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects RNase Z1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RNase Z1 (E-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RNase Z1, also known as ELAC1 or D29, is a 363 amino acid nuclear protein belonging to the RNase Z family of RNA-processing enzymes. RNase Z1 shows predominant expression in lung, brain, placenta, heart, liver, kidney, and pancreas, highlighting essential roles in various tissues. RNase Z1 functions primarily as a zinc phosphodiesterase, crucial for tRNA maturation by removing 3′-trailer segments from precursor tRNA, which is vital for proper tRNA function in protein synthesis. RNase Z1 participates in several other zinc-dependent RNA processing activities, including generating 3′ termini on tRNA, endonucleolytic cleavage of RNA, and removal of extra 3′ nucleotides from unprocessed tRNA. Defects in RNase Z1 have been implicated in prostate cancer pathogenesis, suggesting a significant role in carcinogenesis and highlighting potential as a therapeutic target.
