RhBG Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RhBG of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-RhBG antibody (B-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RhBG, also known as ammonium transporter Rh type B or SLC42A2, is a 441 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in ammonium transport, which is vital for maintaining acid-base balance and nitrogen homeostasis in the body. RhBG is predominantly expressed in the kidney, where RhBG localizes to the epithelial linings of convoluted tubules and loops of Henle, facilitating the transport of ammonium ions across the cell membrane. RhBG exists as five alternatively spliced isoforms and interacts with Ankyrin G, which is essential for anchoring to the basolateral cell membrane of kidney epithelial cells. Additionally, RhBG undergoes post-translational N-terminal glycosylation, which may influence stability and function. The gene encoding RhBG is located on human chromosome 1q22, highlighting significance in renal physiology and potential implications in kidney-related disorders.
