    RGS8 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RGS8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RGS8 Antibody (F-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RGS8 protein, consisting of 180 amino acids, plays a crucial role in the regulation of G protein signaling, particularly in the central nervous system where RGS8 is predominantly expressed in the Purkinje cells of the cerebellum. Unlike most RGS proteins that primarily act as negative regulators, RGS8 uniquely enhances the activity of G-protein-coupled inwardly rectifying potassium channels (GIRK1/2), thereby contributing to the modulation of neuronal excitability and synaptic transmission. This dual regulatory function of RGS8 is significant as RGS8 suggests a complex role in fine-tuning G protein signaling pathways, which are essential for various physiological processes, including mood regulation and motor control. The NH2 terminus of RGS8 is critical for localization within the cell, ensuring proper positioning to effectively interact with target proteins and modulate their activity.
