RGMa Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects RGMa protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RGMa (E-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The repulsive guidance molecule A (RGMa) plays a crucial role in the development of the nervous system, particularly in the guidance of growth cones during neuronal development. RGMa repels certain axons, specifically those originating from the temporal half of the retina, which is vital for proper neural circuit formation. RGMa′s function in axonal guidance is essential for establishing correct neuronal connections, and dysregulation can lead to developmental disorders. RGMa is anchored to the cell membrane via a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor, which is important for localization and function. While RGMa has been implicated in both axonal guidance and neural tube closure, specific receptor mechanisms for RGMa activation remain undefined, distinguishing RGMa from other guidance molecules like ephrins and netrins. Notably, neogenin, a netrin-binding protein, can enhance RGMa responsiveness in dorsal root ganglion axons, highlighting the complexity of interactions within the nervous system.
