    SEE ALSO...

RFC5 Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RFC5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RFC5 (F-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The replication factor C (RFC) complex, which includes RFC5, plays a critical role in DNA metabolism, particularly in DNA replication, repair, and telomere maintenance. RFC5 is essential for loading proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) onto DNA at primer-template junctions, a process that is ATP-dependent and crucial for the proper functioning of DNA polymerases during replication. The RFC complex is a heteropentameric assembly, and RFC5 subunit, located on chromosome 12q24.2-q24.3, interacts with other RFC subunits and proteins such as Rad24, which is vital for DNA damage checkpoint control. This interaction is particularly important in the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, where RFC5 and RAD24 work together to transduce DNA damage signals, activating the central transducer Rad53, thereby ensuring genomic stability. Anti-RFC5 antibody (F-9) effectively detects RFC5 protein across multiple species and applications, making RFC5 (F-9) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying DNA metabolism and repair mechanisms.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with RFC5 (F-9): sc-376528 monoclonal antibody?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
