Rex-1 Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Rex-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rex-1 (E-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rex-1, also known as zinc finger protein 42 (ZFP42), is an acidic zinc finger protein characterized by four repeats of the zinc finger nucleic acid-binding motif and a potential acidic activator domain, indicating a role as a regulatory protein. Rex-1 is predominantly localized in the nucleus, where Rex-1 plays a crucial role in maintaining embryonic stem cell pluripotency and shows high expression in undifferentiated murine F9 teratocarcinoma cells. Rex-1 expression undergoes downregulation during differentiation processes, such as retinoic acid introduction, highlighting Rex-1′s importance in stem cell biology. Various transcription factors modulate Rex-1 expression; Oct-3/4 can activate or repress Rex-1 promoter depending on cellular context, while Oct-6 decreases Rex-1 expression. This intricate regulation underscores Rex-1′s significance in developmental processes and potential implications in stem cell research and regenerative medicine.
