    SEE ALSO...

RDH13 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RDH13 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RDH13 (E-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RDH13, also known as all-trans and 9-cis retinol dehydrogenase 13 or SDR7C3, is a 331 amino acid mitochondrial protein that belongs to the short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) family. RDH13 is widely expressed, particularly in the eye, pancreas, placenta, and lung, and is localized on the outer side of the inner mitochondrial membrane. RDH13 plays a crucial role in the metabolism of retinoids, recognizing them as substrates and potentially contributing to the production of retinoic acid, which is vital for various biological processes, including vision and cellular differentiation. RDH13 protects mitochondria from oxidative stress, highlighting its importance in maintaining cellular health. Defects in RDH13 have been linked to Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA) type 3, an inherited autosomal recessive retinal disease that represents the most common genetic cause of congenital visual impairment in infants and children, underscoring the significance of RDH13 in both health and disease.
