RCL Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RCL protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RCL antibody (C-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RCL is a 174 amino acid protein that belongs to the deoxyribonucleoside 5′-monophosphate N-glycosidase family, and plays a crucial role in cellular proliferation and c-Myc-mediated transformation, making RCL significant in cancer biology. RCL protein is primarily localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm, with expression being induced by transcription factor ER81. RCL shows high expression levels in vital organs such as heart, kidney, liver, skeletal muscle, and spleen, while lower levels appear in brain, colon, lung, peripheral blood leukocytes, placenta, small intestine, and thymus. RCL is overexpressed in a significant proportion of breast cancers, highlighting RCL′s potential as a biomarker for tumor progression. RCL gene is conserved across several species, including chimpanzees, dogs, mice, rats, and zebrafish, and maps to human chromosome 6p21.1, a region rich in genes associated with various diseases, including PARK2 gene linked to Parkinson′s disease and genes encoding major histocompatibility complex proteins essential for immune response.
