Rab 18 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Rab 18 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rab 18 Antibody (D-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rab 18 protein, consisting of 206 amino acids, is a member of the Rab subfamily of small GTPases and is crucial for intracellular transport processes. Specifically, Rab 18 is lipid-anchored to the cytoplasmic side of the cell membrane and plays a significant role in apical recycling and endocytosis, facilitating the transport of proteins between early endosomes and the plasma membrane. This function is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and ensuring that proteins reach their correct destinations within the cell. Additionally, Rab proteins, including Rab 18, are integral to the movement of carrier vesicles during the transport of newly synthesized proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi complex and secretory vesicles, highlighting their importance in both biosynthetic and endocytic pathways.
