R-Ras Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against human R-Ras, a crucial regulator of cellular growth and differentiation pathways. Anti-R-Ras antibody (C-8) recognizes an epitope within the R-Ras immunogen sequence and demonstrates broad species cross-reactivity, detecting R-Ras in mouse, rat, and human samples through Western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications. R-Ras monoclonal antibody (C-8) is available in non-conjugated form and multiple conjugated forms including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates, offering versatility for diverse experimental needs. Initially identified through low stringency hybridization methods, R-Ras demonstrates sophisticated regulation through interactions with key signaling proteins. R-Ras forms important associations with the Bcl-2 gene product, influencing apoptotic signaling pathways and cell survival decisions. The significance of R-Ras regulation becomes particularly evident when mutations occur at positions 38 and 87, sites analogous to oncogenic mutations in H-Ras, leading to constitutive R-Ras activation and potential oncogenic effects. Through modulation of Raf-1 kinase activity and its downstream effectors, R-Ras serves as a critical coordinator of cellular signaling that can contribute to tumorigenesis when dysregulated.
